We just found out that Verizon FiOS which we have now does not provide service in Ringwood.

We were very happy with the service but now we have to find an alternative, anyone know which cable company covers that area and how good the service is? And what extras they offer (on demand programming, DVR, Lots of HD channels, etc.)?

Verizon suggusted DirectTV to us but we had that in the past and the signal was terrible I'd hate to find out how much worse it is with all the tree cover in Ringwood.

Thanks for any suggestions!

You're stuck with either the dish or Cablevision... Frankly, they brag about their quality but I've never been thrilled with their digital TV... pixels freeze and it locks up the entire screen way too often for the 21st century. Optimum online is nice and fast internet but it's expensive. They don't offer NFL Network. We have their DVR... plenty of HD and it's free... I don't know about on demand as we don't use that.

If you're within several miles of the Verizon CO you would be able to get a 3 mbps DSL circuit for something around $30 a month. There's a cheaper version at $20 but slower, 1 mbps.
Go to those websites where you can find out if you're close enough online.
If so, you can either order it with regular dialtone phone service or without the phone service called a "dryline DSL". Also there are other providers like earthlink, etc., which would use the same lines to provide their DSL to you.

A friend of mine lives in Hamburg up there and they have a DSL from Embarq.
