The actual Larison's Turkey Farm has been gone for many years. The building is still there and it has been several different restaurants over the past 10-15 years. I think it's actually called Larison's Steakhouse now, but in no way connected to the original Larison. Using that name is just a way to try to get business I suppose. Not sure how it is as I haven't been there since it was something different about three years ago and it was terrible.

Just received this little gem from a friend....
"Boston Market is having the special promotion "2 kids eat free" with $6 minimum Adult Meal purchase required. This promotion will end by October 31, 2009."

and as an earlier poster mentioned - every family is different. So true. If you invite one, you have to invite them all or else there's resentment. So I get stuck with all the nice relatives and all the A*holes.

I just hope they don't follow us....

I can see it now...Hon, step on it- Aunt Nutcase is gaining on us !! Quick- make this sharp left, now a right, Oh noooo Uncle NastyDrunko spotted us !!
LMAO!!!! I crack myself up

Yeah, true. I still don't admit it and try to pass it off as homemade, haha.

when my mother was alive and in a manic phase she forced the whole family to go to Plymouth Rock for thankgiving dinner!!! It was the worst , rainest and most memorable thankgiving now thats she gone!!! Funny it sucked at the time, looking back now, me and dad laugh pretty hard about that trip. We ate frozen tv dinner with a bunch of homeless at Plymouth Rock!! This was when I was about 11 years old. Yes this is a true story, thats before Lithium!!!

I'm done.

Any suggestions for a good Thanksgiving Dinner restaurant in Central/South Jersey that is kid-friendly?
Specifically, Middlesex, Mercer,Monmouth or Ocean Counties. I'm looking further into Buttonwood Manor.

Thanks for all the suggestions.

We've never eaten out for Thanksgiving, but the Bayberry in Ship Bottom has been our Easter spot for many years. It's very classy, traditional, and the food is very good. If they're open (long shot) it would be a nice choice.

I'm really surprised any place is open on Thanksgiving, to be honest. Who would want to wait tables for a few dollars on such a day? It's actually kinda depressing when you think about it.

I alway thought that about Christmas and Christmas eve.

But I was up in NY one year and had no plans for Christmas eve except walking around the city.
We always did the "Italian Feast" on Christmas eve, which seemed a religious experience, but we broke the rules. We had a fantastic CHINESE
meal. The place was packed and everyone, even the employees, had a ball! One of the BEST meals I've ever had, actually. And the long walk afterwards topped the night.
Nothing wrong with starting new traditions, as long as you enjoy yourself.
