What daily newspaper do you recommend for home delivery in the Summit area? I was hoping to get the NY Times, but it’s frightfully expensive for a 7-day a week delivery, so we’ll get it on the weekends only. I would like to get something else for Monday to Friday. I like to get a real paper as opposed to reading it online, although I do like to occasionally browse the headlines online if I have time.

I’m interested in hearing about what paper you read, and why.

Thanks!

Star Ledger... it does a very thorough job of covering NJ and world news. Also the Daily Record... more for local, Morris County news though.

I see the DR hasn't really elevated itself since I left. Quite possibly the worst publication I ever read.

Then I moved to New Mexico.

Don't even get me started. The worst newspaper I've ever read & their "news" is slanted by what ever their current agenda is...The Ny Post looks good compared to them

Are they still charging 50 cents for that piece of crap, or did they have the balls to raise it in the last 8 years?

Financial Times.

Most US newspapers have their "tribe" and they cheerlead for it. FT is a cut above them. Also, it's a good one for me given my line of work.

Financial times is $80- a year for delivery 6 days a week (they have 1 weekend paper)

For local stuff, I don't get a dead-tree paper, I read nj.com for the most part and sometimes nytimes online.

I listen to talk radio. I havent had time to read a paper in 10-12 years but I do have the Sunday Star Ledger delivered for the adverts and coupons. Theres also a local paper (only 5-6 pages) that I scim through really quick to see how the mayor is wasting the towns money this week.
