Can anyone tell me how long does it take before the check arrive by mail or by direct deposit if i am starting the extended benefits?. I claim online this past Wednesday to answer the 10 questionnaire and i sent the job search form for the first 2 weeks last Friday. When i was on tier 1 to 4, the money is in the bank within 2 days. But EB is different since Trenton have to check your job search. Thanks..

Might have a better shot getting this answered in C-D's unemployment forum.

About 3 wks for it to go through, and remember to send in your job search forms or they'll cut you off.

Thank you so much for answering my question. I wonder why it takes them 3 weeks. With today's technology they should have it done in a couple of days. Or i could have sent them a copy of submission receipt from internet job site to save them a hassle. But at least i know. I'll have to eat ketchup and soy sauce for the next 3 weeks.

The wait is due to them being back up with claims.

If I put in my first claim for EB May16th, does this mean I will not get a deposit 2 days later, May 18th but 3 weeks later? So it will be June 9th to get my first deposit? I got my last depost for Tier IV May 1st. THIS IS MESSED UP - 5 WEEKS TO GET ANY MONEY AT ALL? My last payment was short - $220 instead of $276. I am going to blow a fuse here. NOTHING for food, bills, rent, NOTHING. I don't have enough to take buses to interviews. THIS IS SO UPSETTING. Please tell me that the info I quoted from a post is incorrect. PLEASE. I put in another post asking if I should just go ahead and do my online weekly claim as i have been doing. It is there to be claimed. I have no replys yet, so at this point, I might as well, it cant hurt any more than the information about waiting 3 weeks to get a deposit from my claim date. Please help me here. CAN SOMEONE OUT THERE WHO GETS NJ EB EXPLAIN TO ME WHAT IS WHAT WHEN STARTING NEW WITH EB, STEP BY STEP, SO I WILL KNOW WHAT i NEED TO DO, AND BE PREPARED. I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO BELIEVE AT THIS POINT. PLEASE HELP!

First, FYI, both 2nd and 3rd quotes from Dec. 2011 were answers to a post dating Dec. 2011.
Regarding my original question here (1st quote above), is the information still the same for first EB claim you have to do the first one in two weeks and another 3 weeks for a deposit - total of 5 weeks from my last deposit of Tier IV on May 1st? That means it is true I have to wait till June 9th to get my first deposit? Funny, that is the date that NJ EB is supposed to stop. I begged in this first quote for someone who has gotten their 1st EB deposit to reply and explain how they went through it detailed. The old quotes as a reply just isn't cutting it. I am not asking much. PLEASE DO NOT give me a link or tell me to follow directions I was sent, (they don't say much) or old quotes, just please, someone IN NJ to simply share their experience from sending in their work search form, when they put in the claim and HOW LONG THEY WAITED TILL THEY GOT THEIR FIRST DEPOSIT. THAT IS ALL I ASK, PLEASE SOMEONE SHARE.
