Hello and good morning,

I am wanting to know what areas in northern Nj have good priced homes lower than $280,000 or lower( I have seen some!) and what areas have average and good low taxes(4,000 and below or lower).

It doesnt have to be very close to manhattan but anywhere near is fine.
Just to ask how are homes priced in the areas of mawhaw/ramsey, and near that area? Are the taxes still high around those areas?

Does anyone know why property taxes are soo high in NJ and if they plan to lower them anytime soon...people should start fighting for lower taxes because it is insane to see that you if you pay $8-10,000 a year in a home that is like buying another home of about $300,000 in the time you finish paying our own in 30 years..that is crazy, i would rather live in a farm that pay that!

I do appreciate the help, thank you very much.

So go live on a farm. Taxes are high in NJ for plenty of reasons that have been discussed here ad nauseam. Either it's worth it to you to pay them and live here or it's not.

Mahwah and Ramsey are expensive. Taxes are better in Mahwah than Ramsey. Ramsey is a smaller town and probably a bit more desirable in terms of location and schools. But for $280 you might get a 2 br condo in those towns. Might.

Property taxes will never go down, so yes, you should go live on a farm if those are the choices
