Smile Good Luck

1. The testing center will validate your permit when you pass the road test. Then you will have to go to an agency that issues your drivers license. There are some testing centers in NJ that have both a road test center and an agency to issue the license. It depends on where you take the road test. You can go to the agency where you got your permit to get your license. You can NOT drive on your permit, you will still need a licensed driver until you get your actual license with your picture on it. And it will be issued immediately, you won't have to wait for it to arrive in the mail, like in other states.
2. The car itself can cause you to fail the test! So make sure it is in good running order, has a valid inspection sticker. And the person who takes you to the test also has a valid drivers license. And all the paper work like registration and insurance card are valid and available to the inspector.
3. Just use good judgment. Look for traffic before pulling out and use your signals. It may be just a course, but treat it like an actual street. Be courteous and polite. All the inspectors know you are nervous.
4. What will fail you is hitting something like a pylon when you are parallel parking. That is considered an accident and an automatic failure. As long as you don't hit the pylon (another car) you should get another shot if you don't get it right the first time. Of course, if you don't stop at a stop sign, look and proceed you will fail. If you see a "yeild" sign, look before proceeding. If there is a speed limit sign, stay under it. Just think of the course as a regular road and follow any rules of the road.

I took my road test at Newark and failed thrice. I feel the examiners in newark are absolute A******S.
I cleared everything well including the parallel parking and K-turn. Stopped and signalled wherever required. Also my speed was jst perfect.
At the green signal i had to take a left turn and there was a truck coming straight from the opposite direction I stopped for him to pass, but the truck driver asked me to go...so i took a left turn and the dam examiner failed me. Its absolutely nonsence i feel. He told me the truck driver had the right of way inspite of the fact that he asked me to go, so i shdnt have gone. Did the examiner expected me to wait in the middle of the road at the green signal even if the driver asked me to go....what the hell did he fail me for. i guess he was a complete racist. Can anybody suggest if newark is a good place or not? or shud i give my test in Lodi or wayne? i live in NJ.

Failed thrice, so it must be the (racist) examiners' fault?

i take my road test this thursday and everyone is putting negative thoughts into my head that i will fail because i scheduled for a 3:30 driver's test. Will it be as busy and hectic and everyone is making it out to be?

i took the driving test 14 years ago and as long as you KNOW how to drive you will pass. Treat it seriously even if its a closed course, don't hit anything and know that the examiner is not your friend so don't get to chummy. Seriously, its not a hard test.

Definitely, they are making totally nonsense. One examiner is so rude as if I was his/her enemy. She is so rude and impolite and didn't give me proper instructions at all. After she failed me, she herself even drove so dangerously and violently. They are not qualified to become an examiner. MVC should do something to solve this problem

i just took my road test and passed 1st time. i had a tall built black women who just seemed like she wanted to get out of the car. i made so many mistakes but she was nice and passed me. i parreled park fine in between the cones and she repremanded me for not looking out the back windshield. then i was driving with one hand. i was driving in the center of a street i must of thought was one way. and when she told me to make a left by a traffic light i came to a stop since i didnt see the light andthen she told me it was green and i felt stupid. also when i made the turn i turned into the far lane(not the lane closest to the center) and she gave it to me on that also. i dont think i should have passed but i did.
