So is Daggett rich too? His taxes are not untypical of many upper middle class in NJ.

Maybe he is more modest, or less weathy than the competitors. Perhaps more able to empathize with the constituents.

Many talk about taxes, Abbott based on what some talk radio host tells them.

Its just a sad state of the party. The educated moderate are left scratching their head. Many of us will support Daggett next month.

P.S. How do you expect to attract "normal" voters when you post garbage like this. This is not how you defeat Corzine.
Who pissed in your cheerios???

I'm sorry you feel this is garbage, but as an overburdened property tax payer in NJ, I do not. As a registered Democrat...that's right Democrat, I personally do not see how Corzine can relate to the middle income taxpayers of NJ.

This helps show why there is such a disconnect between candidates and a majority of the people of the state.

Even with Daggett at $18,000 a year, a majority of the people in this state, could not afford to live in that house.

The article posted is fact, certainly not opinion.

To be fair, the state’s supreme court has declared Hoboken, with it’s multimillion dollar properties, one of the 31 impoverished Abbott districts. In fact it’s so poor that we the taxpayers pick up most of the cost of their schools since Corzine, Katz and the rest of the impoverished can’t afford to pay their own way. When do you suppose the goons in gowns will re-examine those 31 districts to determine if they still meet the criteria???

I would be curious to know what Corzine's property taxes would be if Hoboken were not an Abbott District.

A 3 million dollar house in Mahwah cost 55,000 a year in property taxes.

Jon Corzine's 3 million dollar home costs 30,000 a year in property taxes.

(I picked Mahwah because it's actually one of the towns in North Jersey that has a healthy business tax base)
Which "constant argument" ? The above is a set of two data points, but there is no line of argument of any kind.

How is Corzine not "paying his own way" ? Does he have children who attend public schools in Hoboken ? Is he not paying state taxes ?

Abbott is not primarily a subsidy from those who live in non-Abbott districts to those who live in Abbott districts. It is a subsidy from high income earners to the education establishment, and low income earners with children in Abbott districts.

Corzine is clearly on the "giving" end of that subsidy (high income earner), and not on the receiving end (no children in Abbott schools)
