I'm at a loss. We have had only a few kids show up at our house so far. The neighbors showed up early, when it was still light, with the toddlers and little ones. Only four groups have shown up in the last hour. I live in a housing development; this is suburbia. Where are they?

What's going on in your neighborhood tonight? Are kids stopping by? I don't understand.

The parents were probably gearing up for NYY vs. Philly WS Game 3 tonight.

As I was leaving the house around 3pm today I saw a few little ones out with their parents. We had "the big run" from 4pm until about 6pm. Still have a lot of candy left, but it's raining now so I don't expect to see too many more if any (plus the game is on)! MAYBE we had 30 kids with the majority being 5 year and under showing off their sweet little costumes. One little guy rang the bell then pressed his face up against the glass storm door and started making funny faces.....almost couldn't make it to the door I was laughing so hard! My development is 10 years old and a lot of the kids who moved in are older now so we don't see nearly as many as we used to.

It was rainy here, heard there were a lot of kids earlier at the mall where a lot of stores were giving out candy, it's probably safer that way (easier on the parents too).

Not a one here, and we didn't have any rain, so that's not the reason. Our house is set back from the street though, so I can see how that would make the next house down the block an easier prospect; but, the funny thing is, I didn't even see any groups of kids walking around dressed in costumes. When I was a kid, we would be pounding the street all afternoon and into the evening! It really doesn't seem to be much of a tradition anymore, at least not in my neighborhood.

Since I posted earlier, things were so slow that the Hub and I drove down the road to pick up some Chinese. I asked him to detour through the street with the big, impressive decorations. You know, the ones with the lights, music, mini haunted graveyard tour...no one. I had one kid stop by a minute ago; I threw a half pound of candy at him.

For parents, it's the game thing. For kids, I'm thinking that they're worried about Corzine and the upcoming election.

I answered the doorbell 3 times. Each time it was 2 kids. I think it mostly has to do with the H1N1 scare and the rain. I feel bad for my neighbor, he always goes all out for Halloween and no one really saw it this year.

I just had a few tiny princesses, bumble bees and super heroes. The bowl with the candy is still almost full.

They started around here at about 5pm. The last few came at 7:30. We have a curfew of 8 o'clock so I turned the light off at 8 even though I still have candy left
