I am from NC and while coming out of a gas station on Rt 4 in Fort Lee, I got pulled over immediately for "improper passing." The cops had set up a "trap" and were pulling over everyone in the shoulder lane, and even though I just came out of the gas station and was trying to merge into traffic, I got pulled over. Should I try to plead "not guilty" by mail and fight the ticket or just give in and pay a lawyer to take care of it? Thanks.
Out of curiosity, did you get the ticket from a Port Authority cop? The PA police are notorious for these types of tickets. On the approach to the Holland Tunnel there is the same type of setup - the only way to exit the gas stations and merge into traffic is through the fire lane. They pull people over all the time for this. If it was me I would just pay the fine and get it over with.
As if those rebel rousers had any business or authority to be handing out such things. You might be able to get it changed to something no points such as driving while white. You work a lil deal with the prostitutor.
If you plead "not guilty" by mail, you will have to come back to Jersey for the court date.
