Hi All,

My wife & I may be moving to NJ and are currently evaluating our options as far as areas where we should look to stay are concerned.

- One of us would need to commute to the Valley Cottage, NY area. This will be daily travel by car (unless better public transport option is available) and our preference is that it be no longer than 45 minutes even during rush hour.

- The other would commute to Manhattan, most likely to an office at the World Financial Center. Though from a work perspective this commute will likely be a couple of times a week, we want to stay in a place close enough to the city so that it is easily accessible on Friday evenings, weekends and such.

- We prefer an apartment complex to a townhome, with a multi-family unit being a second preference. Local access to restaurants and entertainment is important.

- We're looking for a 2 bed 2 bath, and our budget is USD 2000. We can stretch to USD 2500 if it includes parking (for one car).

Given the above, would seek fellow board members' suggestions & recommendations on which areas we should look at. Currently, we're looking into Edgewater, Fort Lee and Hackensack. Any others you suggest or recommend? I also had the following additional questions:

1. Are either of these 3 better than the other in terms of public transport commute to NYC? How long would you estimate, door to door, from Edgewater/Fort Lee to the World Financial Center in Manhattan?

2. In terms of commuting to Valley Cottage/Nyack area by car, do either of the Palisades Interstate or US 9W present a good option? Are these extremely congested during rush hour? How long do you think it would take from Edgewater or Fort Lee to Valley Cottage at say 7AM, and the reverse commute at 4PM?

Appreciate your time and inputs.
