Who has the best deal (either in-store or online) on a laptop computer for ordinary office-type usage? What details can you share about the deal and about the computer?

Default Walmart

I think that Walmart just blows away the other stores on computers. This sale runs from 5AM to 11AM, not sure how many each store has, I've had the ads since last week.

They have a E-Machines laptop 2GB Memory, 160 Harddrive reads writes CD and DVD......$198.00

HP laptop 3 GB Memory, 250 Harddrive same as above on CD and DVD..$298.00

HP Desktop 3 GB Memory 320 Harddrive same as above on CD and DVD..
$398.00

You can check Best Buy but I don't think they come close in price.
Happy Shopping.

Online you have a lot of competition with new products available. Sometimes you get free shipping and no sales tax depending on locations. also check MicroCenter's site, the store in NJ is on Rt20 just off I-80.

I am sitting here sipping my coffee in my jammies getting the same deals as the people who went out this morning and are standing in line for hours. Except my purchases will be shipped right to my door for free and no sales tax. I feel giddy.

You shouldn’t have to stand in a long line to get a great deal. We’re searching for the best Black Friday deals everywhere--including deals other stores are planning--so we can meet or beat their prices and bring them to you even earlier. These limited-supply offers will go quickly but we’ll add new ones throughout the day, every day this week, so you can skip the long lines and still save a bundle.

So check out their computer deals. They have a prety good one on an acer.
