anyone know how that area is, I live in greenville JC currently but need to move in the near future. Alot of apts have been popping up in that area and north newark. Overall im familiar with the rest of newark but the north section I have never really been around. I realize the whole crime factor but is it more along the lines the ironbound section or more like the other areas?

That's the Spanish and partial Italian section of Newark. As long as you're one of those races, you'll fit in just fine. There are also african american's in that area, but not as many as in other areas.

It is not like the Ironbound section. The Ironbound section is very good as far as keeping their community in tact. You shop Portugese, you buy Portugese, you rent Portugese.

Branch Brook Park is North Newark and although it's one of the "better" sections of Newark, it really depends on the exact block you live on to determine how safe it is. Christmas Eve, a few blocks from Branch Brook Park, a store-owner and his workers were murdered - because the thugs wanted money. Who wants to live like that?

The Newark city light rail has many stops along branchbrook park that take you into Newark Penn Station where you can hop on the PATH train.

Usually takes me 13 minutes on a weekday from branchbrook park station to penn station.

Branch Brook Park. So famous for their Cherry Blossoms. Well, in 2007, there were NO CHERRY BLOSSOMS!!! What is happening in this world. Global warming?

I have an opportunity to buy a new construction 3 family house on lake street, Newark across the street from branch brook park. Is it a stupid investment? I am a single woman.
