I just found the best cheescake in NJ. It's sinfully delicious and the brownies there are beyond awesome, too. Wow! http://marcscheesecake.com/

He used to be in Clifton, but it looks like he moved. I bought a cake from him about a year ago, and while it wasn't cheap, it sure was excellent. This location would be far more convenient for me. I only hope that he doesn't raise his prices too much to account for the move to a much fancier town. Thanks for the update!

UPDATE: The price are posted on the site, and they are higher. Last year, the medium cakes were $23.00. They're $26.00 now. Large cakes were $33.00. They're $38.00 now. I could understand the cakes going up $1 for the mediums and maybe $2 for the large in a year, but more than that makes me think he's charging for the fancier crowd and the more expensive real estate. Bummer.

I know him from his years in Clifton, too. The rents are higher in Glen Rock, but Marc told me that since the economy has changed a bit, this was a move that made sense to him. I hope that he does well there. He used to do some St. Joe's Hospital business but maybe he has more clients in Bergen County. His baking is awesome.

that is pretty expensive

Although some of these Carvel cakes are loaded with crap, colorings etc. I'd rather get a homemade cheesecake. Wish he made a ricotta based cheesecake.

Does he sell by the slice as well?
