Just like everyone else, the Nets are leaving NJ and didn't want to pay a 3 dollar surcharge for all tickets and 7.5 million penalty fee to leave the Izod. Just like everything else, the system's greed ruined a good thing and now NJ has no home team in any sport except the devils and hockey. Of which is having really poor attendance due to lack of interest.

I was a Nets fan back in the day when Rick Barry was the star. Screw them if they move back to NY. I'll become a Wizard fan.

The YankeeNets organization was 100% behind a move to Newark when they owned them. The Devils were committed from the start. However, the Nets ownership wavered.
The Prudential Center was held up for a few years & ownership sold.
Ratner bought the Nets with the intention of a huge redevelopment project in BK.
The Nets move to BK has nothing to do with greed (at least NJ political greed).

Yes because attendance is through the rough with 5000 people attending devils games right now There are less than 5000 people here - The Rock while the nets preseason games had 12,700 fans in the rock

The Devils average more than 15,500 people at home. About 3,750 (Philly) - 2300 (NYC) less than the Flyers & Rangers. Not bad for the most ignored team in both media markets.
Stop it.

NHL Attendance - National Hockey League - ESPN

Even the lame duck, on their way out town Nets draw more than 5,000. You are fabricating beyond reason my friend.
Sorry. You need a new anti-NJ angle.
