Hello All,
my first post here. We are moving to a new apartment in North Brunswick and looking to buy some furniture for the new place.
After looking at many furniture stores we are now thoroughly confused . Looking to spend around $4K for a leather sofa and loveseat that will last us 8-10 years.
We have checked Value City, Ashley, Raymour, La-z-boy, Ethan Allen.

Value City and Ashley seem to be budget friendly but we are looking for something higher quality. We have Ashley bedroom set which started looking worn out just six months a after purchase.

Ethan Allen seems to be very good quality but we are looking for something more casual.

We really liked La-z-boy maverick (Maverick Loveseat - Official La-Z-Boy Website) collection in brown leather but after checking tons of bad reviews about la-z-boy online we are kinda scared to buy from them.

Would be great of somebody can recommend brands and furniture similar to la-z-boy linked above that will be sturdy and last us a decade or so.

Thanks!

There is nothing wrong with Value City. I bought a leather sofa there back in 2003 and it is still as good as new. I think I paid around $900. Only the back of my sofa is not genuine leather, but nobody sees that anyway. Your budget of $4k sounds way too high for just a sofa and loveseat.

Don't forget it doesn't have to be a "furniture" store. Many department stores (Macy's, Penney's) also have furniture, and I would think they would have good warranties.

Thanks for the replies so far!

Went to Bob's too but found the sales people to be very aggressive. The furniture quality was ok. Probably on par with Ashley.

Will check out Macys and other department stores.

Any more recommendations are welcome!

If you can wait until Presidents' Day, they're are a lot of sales at that time of year.

Agreed that the salespeople can be pushy. But the prices are great and the quality looked pretty good also.

I was sceptical at first but I also have to recommend Bobs.

An old school test my great uncle showed me (old wives tale that usually works) if the furniture is feather light, stay away from it. The heavier the better.

After reading the following link, I wouldn't buy from Bob's. Bobs Discount Furniture @ Pissed Consumer

We bought a bedroom set from Bob's last year and it's been great.
