hi, i'm moving to the shore and would like to know if people could help me with my decision. i'm in my late 20s, and i dont know anyone in jersey; i know "new jersey" and "things to do" are two concepts that kinda cancel eachother out, all the same tho, if someone could level with me as to where the "best times" are to be had, i'd appreciate it. it doesnt even have to be the shore (tho the lifestyle seems to lean toward what i consider to be a higher quality of life than most of the state), but it cant be any farther away than belmar-ish from NYC/newark, where i get work.

it should be noted, i am NOT asking where to go in jersey to get drunk Mod cut. rather, i am genuinely feeling, both in terms of my age and the "freedom of my spirit" or whatever, quite oppressed in this state, i would not be living here if i had control over it, but i dont. tho my query might cross over into the "drunk and laid" category, as i wouldnt mind it being factored into your answers where there is actually ANYTHING to do or ANYONE my age, where i wont be profiled just kuz i dont look like a republican square who just stepped out of an LL Bean ad, i certainly need to meet girls and cut loose a little, but overall quality of life is a much larger part of my question than Mod cut etc, i'm not looking for a stereotypical experience here, if i was i wouldnt be looking for it in jersey. basically if anyone has any information that could help an educated decision form in the mind of someone who [quite proudly] isnt willing to conform to the ultra-square neuroticism and petty mindset that seems to plague most denizens of this state, and help me move to a place in new jersey that might actually be responsible for more good memories full of anything than bad memories full of nothing, as is my general experience here, i'd be most grateful. thanks so much!

ps - can you tell i dont like new jersey? i dont need to be "persuaded" out of this, i've lived in jersey for years and years now (spread out cumulatively, mostly in the seton hall-ish area), fact is, if you're b/w the ages of 18 and 30, this place heap big sucks in pretty much every way conceivable, objective fact, end of story. basically, what i'm asking is, in regards to my query concerning the shore, help me move to a place in jersey that wont keep me hating it so much!! really, in all seriousness, you have no idea how important this information is to me. my thanks again for your time.
