Hello, I have posted on here a few times and the help has been great - thank you! As I do my research I am finding that I have more and more questions.

I have been looking at Jersey City because of its convenient location to the PATH. With that in mind, I need to understand the safety issues - I am a single female - there is no boyfriend or family nearby. What specific parts of Jersey City is it safe to be a single female getting to the PATH and being ok to get home walking from the PATH at night say as late as 9pm? If you are a single female - I need to hear from you!

I have seen the Pavonia area which looks really nice. What other parts of Jersey City are safe for single females to live in?

I appreciate all the help!

Hi, I'm a single female and have been living in Paulus Hook for 2+ years. I live very close to the PATH/light rail and feel safe in my area. I've taken the PATH/light rail home as late as 3 a.m. and the area is pretty deserted by then but I've never felt uneasy. I also have friends who live in one of the buildings near the beer garden and the walk home from the Grove PATH is on busy, well lit roads so they don't have an issue with coming home late either. As with any city though, you have to be aware of your surroundings at all times and I'd also recommend living in a building with a 24 hour doorman.

I would stay away from the buildings near the beer garden. Don't know when your friend moved into that area, but the beer garden has attracted some real degenerates. One woman in the Sutton was accosted, my girlfriend was accosted, and another woman was followed from the PATH - all the way down Grove. There is plenty of lewd behavior to be had - especially on the weekends.
