Any of you Cranford folks familiar with the area? I have looked up addresses on this street but havent found and flood information at all. Do any of you know if this street floods at all? It is right next to some "little river" or creek. Any help with this information? Thanks in advance.
Not really a flood zone, as far as I know. The flood zone is on the North side of Cranford. Mohawk is higher in elevation above the river. What did your agent say?
You can order official flood maps from the FEMA website, but you can also access information about the flood risk for your address from another FEMA-related website:

They said nothing in regards to flood zone or flood insurance. Just thought I would ask because of how close it is to the river. It is much higher, thats for sure.

that area is much higher than the river. we live close by and have had no problems with the river flooding.
Cranford is notorius for flooding. The major flood zone is the Northwest quadrant. There has been extensive flood control work done over the past few years, including a new pumping station off Riverside Dr. That should help alleviate some of the issues there. There is also more awareness to flood prevention, like lowering the water level when they're expecting heavy rainfall. The fact is, that that area is built on a marsh, it has poor drainage, and is prone to flooding. We also have local flooding, where some of the roads pitch to a low area and the cannot shed the water fast enough.
