Between Shoprite, the movie theater, and 14th St traffic, it should be very safe. It's a bit of a hike from the PATH, that would be my only concern, but you can always take a taxi for $5 (maybe $6 now) if that's a problem. My hubby and I were at 9th & Bloomfield (about 5 mins. closer) and never found the walk to be a problem at any hour.

9th & Bloomfield is a heck of alot closer to the PATH than 13th & Adams.
The best bet to get to the PATH from back there is to either catch the Clinton Street bus or to hop the light rail at 9th Street. You could also catch the 126 bus over on 14th bet. Willow and Park - but then you have to contend with Washington St. traffic which is not the greatest during any hour of the day. BTW, in pre-gentrification times, that part of Hoboken was heavy industry. That area is the last available section to really build on, unless you knock down the projects over on Jackson. IMHO, no part of Hoboken is good for raising families unless of course, you intend on sending your kids to private school. The public schools are deemed "sub-par". Hoboken is attractive to singles and DINK's - not so much for families, most families move out to better school districts.
