Hi all,

My family and I are planning a move to NJ this summer. Husband will be working in Bridgewater- 2 kids- 2nd grade and 6th grade next year. I am finishing up school myself, and will be certified to teach secondary mathematics next year. We are hoping to keep our commutes to less than 1 or 1.5 hours per day.

I was looking at living in Westfield/ Cranford area. My kids are in the gifted program in our current school district here outside of Seattle in WA State.
Schools are super important to us, and so we are looking for very good or excellent schools.

We are wanting to rent at first, and we are curious about our chances of finding a comfortable 3 bd house in a good neighborhood- lots of kids, stuff for kids to do, walkable, and some coffee close by would be nice too!

We were hoping to keep our rent under $2500 but could stretch a bit more if needed.

What do you think my chances are for getting all that I want?

Thanks,

L.

i just bought a house in westfield and will be moving this summer. i just did a quick check on realtor.com, and it looked like most of the 3 bedroom rentals were closer to 3k.
my guess would be that rents in cranford would be a bit more affordable then westfield. cranford is a great town as well.

good luck.
