There was ALOT of talk of putting a NASCAR track in Linden across the river from Staten Island a few years back. Then it just sort of went away.

NASCAR?? seriously? If the fans that usually follow NASCAR moved to NJ, that would be the reason for me to move out. :-)

Yes Nascar fans are a rowdy bunch not like those clean cut gentlemen and ladies that we see rooting for the Giants, Jets, Eagles Phillies, Flyers.

This would be great. My husband and I are F1 fans. Well we were huge fans of Juan P Montoya but still enjoy watching it. I would think they would have it maybe around River Road? From West New York through Edgewater and Fort Lee??? Not sure but that's where I think they would have it, also because of the small winey roads like Monoco ; )

Too bad all the drivers in F1 are foreigners. We all know foreigners are much bettter drivers than Americans because we see that every day on the highway.

People 'roun here are too hick for Nascar. Too closed minded in rtheir own little world, but I bet it would work just fine.
There also was a big proposal to build a Nascar track over the bridge in Stagnacious Island.

On that note the they are trying to attract them to the new NJ Motorsports Park in Millville. Personally, I'm all for it because it will help our local economy here in the poorest county in the state. There's already a lot of Nascar fans down here, in fact I was surprised by how many people watch it.

F1 too much of a snob form of motorsports, better suited to Monte Carlo than the Meadowlands.
F1 racing is also boring that's why most knowledgable Americans prefer other types of racing.

Some people think NASCAR is boring, billboards turning left for 3 hours, lol
The 2009 F1 season was one of the most thrilling in years, this year Schumi is back, Alonso is in a Ferrari, Vettel is superfast..
2010 should be very exciting to watch.
Build it and they will come
