Hey Jersey Just had a few questions I was listening to the radio and have heard yet again that a coyote attack has accured in Middletown county. First I want to send my Condolences to the family and wish the child a speedy recovery. I think this makes the second or third attack i've heard about in a 2 month period I mean this didn't really affect me as I live in Essex near south mountain reservation which made me curious these animals are wood/forest animals so are there any in the essex county area especially in South Mountain Reservation I take walks there frequently and don't want to be surprised one day so any info would be appreciated.

none have been reported up there recently, if the pack in middletown survives it's conceivable that their range will spread

You really think so. I mean Middletown is a good distance away from Livingston I mean even if the pack does spread the chance of it or them making up this far without being spotted are very doubtful in the meantime i just hope the people in middletown keep an eye out and put an end to the pack.

Just this week in Livingston, someone found a coyote eating a cat on his driveway. It was in the local Livingston paper this week (The West Essex Tribune).

We had a black bear walk through town earlier this year too.

I never even knew that coyotes exist on the east coast! I always imagined them out west. You know, like in the cartoon. But the cartoon coyote did shop at ACME, so i guess he was from Jersey afterall!
