I love the feel of this town but was startled to read on Wikipedia (citing a non-Census source) that the town's racial makeup is 80% Italian. I love Italy, Italians, etc. but I don't have a drop of Italian blood and 80% of a single national origin sounds kind of overwhelming. Can it be true? Do non-Italians feel like outsiders there?

Wikipedia says Nutley is 36% Italian ancestry. Where do you see 80%? That would be ridiculous.

Yes. Nutley is for ITALIANS ONLY. All others need not apply.

From the famous Yantacaw Address:
"Tree-score and tirty yeah's ago, out faddas brought fort in dis place a new Borough, conceived in linguine, and dedicated ta da proposition dat all ITALIANS are created equal....

It is radda for us ta be here dedicated to da great task remainin' before us—dat from these honored dead we take increased devotion to dat cause for which dey gave da last full measure of devotion—dat we here highly resolve dat dese dead shall not have died in vain—dat dis town o' Nutley, unda God, shall have a new birt o' freedom—and dat government of da ITALIANS, by da ITALIANS, and for da ITALIANS, ONLY, shall not perish from da oith."
- Gabe Linnacollini, Mayor of Nutley

from Wiki.......
Nutley's population grew between the 1920s and 1960s due to a large influx of Italian immigrants and Italian-Americans. Today, 44.5% of Nutley is of Italian descent, per data from the 2000 Census

No Nutley isn't only for Italians, all of NJ is only for Italians =P

Nutley isn't even the most Italian city in NJ, it's Hammonton (the most Italian City in NJ/the U.S., or at least at one point it was)

I think Ocean County has the largest Italian population in the state. Maybe, because a lot of Italians moved there from North Jersey?
