The train stations would actually be in New Brunswick and Metropark. New Brunswick may be tough to find parking at, and Metropark is definitely more than 15 minutes- especially during rush hour. The commute up Route 1 to Metropark will be closer to 30 minutes normally, and could be even longer in the short term because they've got the road torn to pieces coming up throug Edison.

As far as the house turning a profit in 7 years- who knows. It all depends on how well you buy it now, and how the market does down the road. I don't think you'll ever see the insane price escalation that happened over the past +/- 5 years again, but as long as the market turns around within a year or two, that'll give you 5 or so years to start building some equity (at least enough to cover the sales commissions and closing costs.....).

I don't know the area that well, but in general, North Brunswick has always been considered a decent place to live.

You can also consider the train station one stop south to New Brunswick on South Jersey Av. which is closer ...

If you would consider Piscataway, Birch Glen is brand new luxury townhouse community very close to Dunellen Train Station.

Yes, and off Rt 1 there are many condo and townhouses that near train station South Jersey Ave, one stop south to New Brusnwick.

There were several hundreds condo and townhouses sold for past months in North Brunswick; complex like Governors Point, Renaissance Meadows, Society Hill ...etc are all very popular ...

The NJ Science League competition scores of North Brunswick is moving up a lot for past year or two, so that implied the school district is moving up a lot recently too ...
