I'm looking to buy an Apple computer, and was thinking of buying one in Delaware on my drive home from a planned trip to Florida in June so I won't have to pay NJ sales tax (no sales tax in Delaware).

But the UEZ reduced sales tax rate isn't so offensive to me, and it's nice to keep the money in Jersey. Does anyone know if Best Buy or any other retailer that sells Apple operates in one of the UEZ areas? I'd be more apt to go to a store in South Jersey, but I'm occasionally up north and if it was convenient would buy it there too.

There is no Best Buy in Jersey City. There is a BJ's store in Jersey City that sells a lot of electronics, but I don't know if they sell Apple computers (and you would have to be a BJ's member anyway). There is a Best Buy in Secaucus but I don't believe Secaucus is a UEZ.

Check out the best buy in jersey city. It's located right near the holland tunnel (in the A&P shopping center near the Hoboken border). I just got a laptop there yesterday and it's 3.5% sales tax.

Here's the website link:

I know Jersey City is an Urban Enterprise Zone and there is a Best Buy in Jersey City. However I believe only about 30% of a town is considered to be a UEZ if the town has one. So I don't know if Best Buy In Jersey City is in a UEZ even though the city has a UEZ. Hopefully someone will back me up on this.

I believe it covers the whole city or town. Or the Main shopping areas.

There's a Micro Center in Paterson on Rt. 20 which is part of a UEZ. It's actually a nice store. I go there every few weeks.

I second that MicroCenter suggestion. Theyhave an App;e section in the store. They have a website online so you can check what is available.
