speaking of winter, my house had almost five feet of snow around it at one point. One thing I love about NJ weather, if you don't like it, hold your breath.

To the OP, if you have any questions about South Jersey (which has no NYC influence) message me. Parts of it are like North Carolina, which is how all of South Jersey used to be about 30 years ago.

I think weather decisions should not be based on this past winter, which was apparently an anomaly almost everywhere. There was snow in central TX, after all, which is rare.

I think anyone with an interest in algorythms will always have a job so I don't think you are lucky, I think you are just a really smart person who chose a great field. I have lived in Boston, and if you like college towns and a lot of culturally rich, progressive politics, live in Cambridge or near there. I found it was a great experience. But friends have commented the Boston is really segregated. As I am super white and have friends of every ethnic and cultural background I did not notice, but that is something to consider. I live on the Jersey Shore. Great schools, clean air but it is expensive. NYC is now a banker's town, not as culturally alive as it used to be. But still, New Yorkers are fantastic people. And the people on the Jersey shore are very interesting. Red Bank is fabulous and the close by Fair Haven has great schools. (Red bank schools, I've heard, are a bit underwhelming) but the town is amazing - a walking town with shops and restaurants and a train that is a pleasure to ride into NYC. For my vote it's the Jersey shore!
