Greetings from a (pro tem) Garden State resident. When do the farmers' markets begin in the spring, and where can I go to them to buy produce, fish, and other items? I realize that I am admitting ignorance here, but my question is sincere. Where can I go to get farm stand quality in these parts?

Thanks, folks. I guess I was thinking there would be lettuces and things like that available earlier. I even thought spring onions, garlic, and other underground vegetables would be ripe more quickly here.

Ringwood does a small one all winter long every third Saturday. I think the large one that runs every saturday starts at the end of this month.

In Secaucus there is an indoor one in the same shopping center as the CVS. Great variety and very good prices. It's open all year, everyday. The awning simply reads "Farmers Market"
