Looking to buy a townhome in northwest New Jersey. Has anyone visited or bought at this community. I came across this article in a google search.

ALLAMUCHY, N.J. –- Baker Residential has begun preview sales for the third phase of Allamuchy Township townhomes at Mountain Ridge at Panther Valley, the collection of three-bedroom Warren County new homes rising in the sought-after Panther Valley neighborhood, minutes from Hackettstown.

Interested purchasers who visit the community can now obtain an up close look at the offering of New Jersey real estate and be afforded the opportunity to purchase at pre-construction pricing. To become a part of Baker Residential’s appointment-only preview opening, prospects can visit the new on-site sales center or call 908-852-0016 or visit http://Town.HomesAtMtnRidge.com.

“Based on the overwhelming interest we’ve received in the upcoming phase of Panther Valley new homes, the demand for townhomes in Allamuchy Township remains strong,” says Barbara Cohen, Sales Representative for Baker Residential. “We’re generating considerable activity from homebuyers ranging from those looking to move up from Warren County apartments and Hackettstown homes to those looking to scale down from larger New Jersey single-family homes. All are excited about the unrivaled value offered in the Allamuchy Township real estate at Mountain Ridge at Panther Valley.”

Baker Residential decided to release of the third phase of Panther Valley townhomes at Mountain Ridge much earlier than originally expected as strong sales fueled the complete sell out of its initial Warren County new homes. The community has received tremendous interest thanks to a variety of Federal programs that are available that add considerable value to new home purchases. This is particularly true for first-time buyers who have found the community’s approval by the Federal Housing Administration (FHA) makes homeownership extremely attainable thanks to friendly FHA financing that requires only 3.5% down.

With sales and development moving so quickly, visitors to Mountain Ridge can obtain a better sense of the comfort, charm and appeal of which has drawn many from Hackettstown homes and Morristown apartments to the neighborhood. A new on-site sales center has opened at the collection of Allamuchy townhomes and the initial residents have now moved into their new Warren County homes. Several site improvements are now complete, including the main entryway, the main access road and internal roads in the first two phases, providing a strong glimpse of how the community will look once finished.

Five different designs are offered at Baker Residential’s Mountain Ridge with affordable pricing starting in the mid-$200,000s. New Panther Valley homes range from 1,968 to 2,850 square feet and boast 2.5 baths, one-or two-car garages, as well as designer interior appointments such as walk-in closets, gourmet kitchens and full finished basements included in the purchase price.

“Mountain Ridge at Panther Valley’s housing designs fulfill a broad range of lifestyles,” says Hollis Schilp, another Baker Sales Representative. “Young couples and single-professionals appreciate the fact that the spacious floorplans provide plenty of room to grow. Empty-nesters downsizing from large New Jersey single-family homes are pleased to discover they don’t have to sacrifice extra space to benefit from the ease of maintenance-free living.”

Homes at Mountain Ridge real estate have been designed to reflect the natural beauty of Panther Valley, which is defined by rolling hills and heavily wooded terrain. Each townhome building will combine design elements with country-inspired details to create streetscapes of enormous grace and flair.

“Our unique location at the top of a mountain provides panoramic views of the surrounding countryside to strengthen the tranquil, small-town environment,” Ms. Cohen says.

The striking community is part of Panther Valley and its world-class recreational amenities. Residents will enjoy two sparkling lakes, two beautiful pools with a third to come, a wealth of tennis courts and the 18-hole Panther Valley Golf & Country Club located within the gated Panther Valley community and available on a membership-only basis.

Mountain Ridge homeowners will also appreciate the community’s convenient location, which offers a quick trip to the array of business, cultural and entertainment opportunities in nearby Hackettstown and throughout northern New Jersey. The community is located in close proximity to a several major highways, including Routes 80, 287 and 78, as well as commuter train and bus stops.

“If its outdoor recreation they seek, Mountain Ridge is in the heart of one of New Jersey’s natural havens,” Ms. Cohen indicates. “The community lies in the shadows of the Allamuchy and Stephens Mountains, while the 70,000-acre Delaware Water Gap is nearby where fishing, boating, camping, kayaking and more can be found. “

Shopping, fine dining and entertainment are also close at hand at the Rockaway Townsquare Mall, which features several national retailers and department stores. Local shops and boutiques can also be found in Hackettstown, historic downtown Morristown and Parsippany.

For additional information on Mountain Ridge at Panther Valley please call 908-852-0016 or visit http://Town.HomesAtMtnRidge.com. To visit, go on Route 80 West. Take exit 19 for County Highway 517 towards Hackettstown. Turn left at County Highway 517/County Road 517. Go 2 traffic lights and turn right at entrance to Panther Valley.

I've bought at this community (closing took place on April, 5). The article is true claiming high demand and very fast sales. That's why the builder keeps increasing the prices over time. For example, I signed the purchase agreement a year ago (May, 19 2009) and now the current price shown on their web site for my home model is $35K higher.

Feel free to ask any specific questions you may have. But overall I'm very satisfied with my purchase - both sales experience as well as construction quality and responsiveness to any questions/concerns I had.

I saw their condos in Secaucus and wasn't impressed. If like the Secaucus site, the floor joists were 24" on center. That was my first sign of cost cutting. I never checked the properties any further as I didn't like the location.

We purchased a townhouse in Whippany, built by Baker, and there were quite a few problems. One that cost each homeowner $5K and the board had to sue Baker. After 7 years a settlement came, but we were still out $3K. The problem was related to structural. Since Baker subs out a lot of the work it's a crap shoot whether you have problems or not.
