how's the bus running along Prospect (express?).. is the traffic horrible in the morning? my hours are about 9-7 on average, so unfortunately during rush hours...
though the trains are not walkable (andersen st. or essex street), should i drive to these stations, park and ride to avoid tunnel traffic? NJ transit shows decent timing, but wanna know how realiable these times are, especially at seacaucs junction..
will i feel burned out doing this daily? my current commute is 2 local subway stops to work..grazi
PS why do hackensack residents pay the same to park at essex/andersen street stations than non-residents?
I use the Pascack Valley line 2x a week to go to Urban Jersey via Seacacus JCT , its not that bad. Less Vibration then the bus , i find more comfortable then a Bus. Essex Street is better , Anderson Street also doesn't have a Ticket Machine and less space to park. @ Seacacus JCT there are alot of Trains to NYC , if you miss one theres another in 5-10 mins... Once at NY Penn You can walk (which during rush hour is faster then the subway) or you can take a Subway form Penn Station to 50th Street , I believe its the C or E lines....should only take 45-1hr. Very relaxing and slightly faster then a Bus , i usually get something at the Dunkin Donuts @ Seacacus JCT.
I used to live on Prospect and worked in the city for several years. The express bus 162 is great. And you can walk a block up to Summit Ave and take the 163 if for any reason the 162 is not running. My advise would be to take the bus to Port Authority then walk to your job or take the subway. It's cheaper and faster than the train.

HOLY CRAP there's a 162 express from summit/essex no stop into PA?? (per njtrans)
what erred me from the bus is that i assumed crazy amount of stops at has heights/rutheford/etc, but if it's literally 1 stop each way the express helps since im not a fan of exchanges (seacacus) that'll get in the way of my reading time.

The 162 goes down Prospect Ave, then takes Polifly road directly to Rt 80. Hackensack is the last town it stops in before taking the highway. So it's very fast.
is there a park and ride nearby? does it cost anything? i live in South hackensack.
