Allentown, NJ is nice. Really lovely walkable downtown. Allentown is located in Upper freehold twp which is split between Allentown and Cream Ridge. 08501 is Allentown and Cream Ridge is 08514. You can also check out New Egypt 08533. All these areas are nice. A little further than some of the other suggestions but about 35 minutes away from the area of Pa you need to go to and around 25 minutes from Trenton depending on the time of day. I personally like allentown, cream ridge, New egypt because they have lots of farms and alot less traffic than say, East Windsor or Hamilton. New Egypt is the most affordable of the bunch and excellent schools systems in all these towns.

We live on the PA side and find it very nice. We are in Pennsbury School District. Don't go for Morrisville School District, although some houses in Morrisville are great and are in Pennsbury School District.

Central Bucks, PA is by far. The cultural district of doylestown is so rich in history, many museums, Henry Chapman Mercer, Fonthill, Civil war history, Michener library, Court house, Delaware Valley College, plenty of fabulous restaraunts, landmarks, etc. I've not been to too many towns that are so diverse and rich in history!
