if i were to get insurance through my job, it would cost in excess of $20K a year...that's what everyone should be paying.

I have my own company and I pay $1,200 a month for the family. I just reduced it from $1,550 a month by putting my deductible up to $2,500.

The difference is how much you don't pay...the taxpayer does.

That isn't Cadillac that's Bentley..$150 per month amounts to $37.50 a week
I pay more than that for just dental & vision....no health as hubbie carries that

You really need a reality check on what the private sector shells out for health insurance versus public employees.
I work for a big company not some small mom & pop operation

i have friends in private sector who pay $0 premium.

why don't we work towards improving everyone's situation instead of trying to drag everyone down?

That is incredibly rare. I haven't seen that in 20 years. By the way the poster was responding to question "how is that a Cadillac plan?"

Yeah a reality check is needed, no doubt. $150 a month for a parent and kid is nothing. And I bet they get dental and vision in that number.

Actually you are adding your friends data points and unless you have seen their pay stubs you can't verify if it is true.

Yes and I do not begrudge the teachers their healh plans just stop the whining already......Most private sector pay $$$ for their portion of health insurance...I guess from what Tahiti tells us there are still some in private sector that do not have to contribute towards their health insurance...geez would love to know which companies these are
