that area near the library does have some gorgeous homes, as does the area around the park (the streets right at the end of Avenue A around 34th street) and the beginning streets of Ave B.

"No man's land" lol. Maybe the city should be broken up in to 4 sections instead of 3.

Its very empty they entire NJ Gold Coast to me is fake. Only Hoboken , Journal SQ , Union City and Fort Lee are always teaming with people. The rest is a Modern Empty wasteland......filled with Condos and refurbished Apartments.

By B&T you mean bridge and tunnel right? If so, not any more than SI is, actually more connected to the city than SI.

If you want to convince yourself you are a New Yorker................ Go ahead, but I'm positive NY'ers will have a different view on the matter.

I think you are missing our point. I am not saying Hudson county residents are New Yorkers. Mike0421 was basically comparing the look of the Hudson county pictures to New York, and quite honestly a lot of areas in Hudson look like areas in NYC. Then he made a comment about it making more sense if Hudson and Richmond counties switched states, that is where my comment came in and I said yes it would make more sense. Then I went on to say Hudson has more in common with NYC than the rest of Jersey and SI has more in common with NJ than NYC. Then I commented on your comment to me about the whole B&T thing. My comment was simply comparing SI and Hudson. I didn't understand your comment about the B&T thing because SI is separated from the rest of NYC as well, actually less connected than Hudson. Where in there did I say Hudson is NYC?

Still. in my most humble opinion. most of those areas and there architecture in particular reflect a bad idea of humanities development. I say we make it all a practice bombing range, throw in NYC along with it. Then when it's all flattened out again start all over, nothing taller than 2 stories and no multi-family buildings with the entire populations of 5 western counties living in one block.
