Why, exactly, should anyone believe a poll conducted by a PAC that supports Denish, especially since a poll conducted by the Denish campaign itself showed Martinez up by 5%?
Your quote is applicable to any statewide election in New Mexico, written by the same PAC that supposedly conducted the poll you cited.
They've actually been pretty good if you look at their track record. Also, Denish's and Martinez's polls were done at the beginning of the month. This was conducted more recently.

Exactly, how stupid. I only believe independent polls.
Rassmusen, is the correct one. And Martinez, is almost a commander.
JBM have you been up north, Denish is losing more and more support cause of those tacky commercials. She is like a snake.
I'm curious, JBM, if you have seen any voter registration drives on campus. I have not. Two years ago there were dozens of people on campus for weeks registering new voters in advance of the presidential election. You couldn't walk across campus without being asked if you were registered to vote. I haven't seen that at all this year. We have thousands of new students on campus who are probably not registered.
As far as polls go I find them hard to believe. Since I gave up the landline last year I have been left alone by pollsters and robocalls alike. Bliss!
And the yards in my neighborhood that had Doug Turner and Allan Weh signs during the primary DO NOT have Martinez signs. I hate to say it, but unfortunately there are Republicans who will not vote for a woman, or someone with a Hispanic surname (I know a couple). If Martinez can pull off a win it will be because of crossover Democrats.

I haven't, actually. I've got a few of my friends to register... However, I have no idea if there is a registration drive in the works or if they've had one or are going to I definitely don't know about it as of yet.
I also know a few people who won't vote for women. My former pastor at an independent baptist church being one, and many of the people at that church being the others. If they decide not to vote for that reason, it's only their loss I suppose.
I am beginning to believe, over the past 10 years, I see an emerging trend when it comes to presidential elections. They matter WAY more to people who believe in liberalism/socialism than state or local races, because I think deep down, one of the tenants of liberalism is statism, or the belief in centralized government. This means that presidential power, or centralized power, is something people on the left identify more with, therefore, they marshall their grass roots and forces more effectively for these elections, because they believe in that type of government. State and local elections are more frequent, and require a lot more attention to civics and detail, and with it, a greater belief or value system of de-centralized government, or the opposite of statism, which is federalism. Therefore, you see more conservatives and greater turn out for these elections. 20, 30 years ago, the opposite might have been true, but I think the wheel has turned full circle.

Just scroll back on this same thread, and see where a GOP poll showing a 10 point lead for Martinez was defended as being a legitmate poll. The bottom line is, the only poll that counts is the one on election day.
“If Denish can keep her high level support with Democrats, turn them out, and win over undecided DTS [decline to state affiliation] voters, it’s difficult to see a clear path to victory for Martinez given the way registered Democrats outnumber registered Republicans in New Mexico."
Did anyone listen to Sunday's debate? Both candidates pretty well laid out their ideas... Whilst also punching each other in the throats(not literally, though that would have made it much more entertaining).

Exactly. Thanks for pointing that out.
For the mean time and till then, we have to hear Diane and her "special interest groupies" bash the hell outta Susna Martinez, while Martinez continues to climb in the polls.

It is a turn off.
I think the opposite is happening, especially with Martinez's ad hominem attacks, especially the one targeting the teacher.
