Nice article about a great New Mexico winery. I've been a fan since the mid-90s, when I'd take bottles of their sparkling wine back to Michigan (also a wine growing state) and give them to winemaker friends in blind tastings. They never, ever, ever guessed New Mexico
until the foil cover came off the bottles.
The same with their Chardonnay and Pinot Noir when they started bottling the still wines around 2000. I'll note, though, that their Pinot Noir, which used to be one of my very favorites once it ages for 3 or 4 years, has not been as good in the last few years.
They're getting the grapes from a different vineyard now, and their own grapes are going into the wonderful Blanc de Noir bubbly.
The best of the New Mexico wines are really underrated, especially by New Mexicans.
