Debbie, we frequently see more TX and OK license plates in Angel Fire than we see NM plates. It seems to be the vacation spot of choice for those from that part of the country.

jiminnm: I can't help asking: Where is Exit 242?

I dearly love that area. I just don't know that I could handle the winters.

Exit 242 on I-25 -- Bernalillo to the west and Placitas to the east.

I like the area, but when I looked extensively in the New Mexico area I decided to invest in property to possibly develop & market for sale. I came to the conclusion that Ute Lake in Logan New Mexico would be best for us, also it is a warm water lake that holds recent state records for fishing. I also thought that it was a good central point in the desired traveling areas. Although I am not from Texas, Colorado, New Mexico or Oklahoma I felt sure Ute Lake would be best. It's close to Clovis, Lubbock & Amarillo & only 2-1/2 hours or so to Eagles Nest & Angel Fire. We also enjoy going up to Eagle's Nest for the snagging season. If interested give me a call and we can talk. Ute Lake Land Andy 575-487-5591

Used to live there for a couple of years...it's a nice quiet town...'cept when the tourists came in..but it kept things lively and the skiing was a fun experience. Yeah, Taos is the nearest town for any real shopping
