you're exactly right, that is exactly what all of Mexico is like! Thank's for your thoughtful insight.

You need to get away from the all-inclusive vacations and see the real Mexico and not the American tourist $$ version.

We can talk all day about stuff that one or the other place had, but the thread is about what they have in common.

I'm not really interested in the blue Mexican farting squirrel, for instance, unless you can also find it in New Mexico.

Thank you for your attention in this matter.

I was simply replying to another post ... feel free to understand the context of my reply at your leisure before you criticize it.

Comes to show both places share misconceptions based on ignorance.

There is more to Mexico than that. Mexico has some fantastic beaches, beautiful colonial architecture, the pyramids and archeological sites, the museums.

New Mexico is just very different from Mexico, but is somewhat similar to the state of Chihuahua or Sonora as far as climate.

Hey, you didn't mention the guys with handlebar mustaches, bandoliers criss-crossing their chest and big dirty sombreros....they're all over Mexico, right?? Oh, and Speedy Gonzales!
You don't seem to know much at all about "the real Mexico" but you DO seem up to date on ignorant assumptions and sterotypes.

I see a lot of guys with handlebar mustaches in my neighborhood but they usually have messenger bag straps across their chests, not bandoliers, and wear cycling caps, not sombreros.

Have you ever even VISITED Mexico outside the likes of American tourist destinations et al?

Walk to Juarez City Hall and come back and tell me I'm wrong about all the awesomeness Mexico LACKS.

For every ONE nice place where you aren't worried about sitting down for a few hours I can name 20 in Mexico you'll want to avoid.

By all means tell the people in border towns like Brownsville, Nogales, Laredo and the likes they have nothing to worry about because what I wrote is wrong. Explain to them how so MANY U.S. citizens are clamoring to swim across the river to make BETTER lives for themselves.

There's nothing ignorant about anything I've said.
