This western Colorado resident is indeed thankful from that rain you guys are sending up this way. Those storms run out of gas by the time they get to Grand Junction, but the San Juans have been getting some much needed moisture lately. From the standpoint of dry conditions, this years has been the costliest by far regarding fires.

I drove through a big storm on Thursday on I-25 going through Bernalillo & Algodones on my way back to Santa Fe. After going through it and looking back on it over the horizon from La Bajada it looked amazing, wish I had my camera. It smells so good here after a good rainstorm.

It's been another very anemic "monsoon season" so far this year, much in keeping with the past few summers when that huge high pressure bubble takes up residence over the region, suppressing thunderhead buildup. Sitting here with clouds and thunder yet again today, and only hundredths of an inch to show for it.

Someone needs to organize a collective rain dance we can all join in on. Maybe there is power in numbers?

Still dry as a bone out here in Fence Lake. Seems the clouds come in and then they just split north and south .

Need about 3 "s soon as I just planted 80 acres of rye.

Ditto here in the Sacramentos. Clouds that try to form mid-day can't build up tops because of the high pressure bubble that hovers over the region and the winds have NOT been favorable either. We need steady SE winds for several days to augment the low level moisture influx but winds have been more NE lately, again due to circulation around the high, I assume.

Seeding of the burn scar here is complete, I believe, and now they are progressing well with strewing the straw to keep the seed from washing away, as well as providing some resistance to erosion if and when the rains do occur this year.

Hoping hoping hoping...

I live in one of the driest corners of Albuquerque and must say I haven't seen a monsoon season like this in 6 years or so. Or almost any rain in 6 years. My rain gauge has consistently come up with about half the rain as the airport where the official weather station is located.

Good luck to everyone!
