I moved to this house on Sept 12. I told landlord before moving in that I need the place for 6 months. I signed the rental application. But, when I moved to place, it wasn't as landlord showed me in pics and I decided to move out next month i.e. October and told landlord on 13th Sept.. I did not signed the 6 month lease with him. However when I told him about moving out, he charge me responsible for full October rent, until he finds some one to move in my place. which he hasn't. So I do not understand how am I responsible for full october rent ? Anyone, can please tell me if landlord is justified in his demand. if I am suppose to give 30 days prior notice, then it should be till Oct 13.
Yes. I know that in my lease, it says if I move out before the lease is up, I am responsible for 2 months rent. (this may be happening, as I am trying to get transferred to rio rancho-might happen in a month)
My advise is to read the lease very carefully before signing.
