I'm very proud we're among the more progressive states now with this decision. Marriage equality is not only a matter of justice, but it will also bring economic benefits to the state.

If so, it'll eventually fade away and New Mexico will move on to a better future. I'm very happy about the decision. I was just up in Santa Fe and walked past the State Supreme Court this afternoon, no backlash or any opposition to speak of. It's live and let live and the Land of Enchantment!

I figured New Mexico would probably be the next state on the list. I'm glad the state is known for being Live and Let Live. Just as it should be across the entire country.

How long has New Mexico been a liberal state? Was it always this way or did transplants change the state's politics?
