I like how all of the states on that list, with the possible exceptions of NM and Maine, are red states.

Seems like the correlation between not pulling your weight and being a red state would dramatically make the case for NM being solidly red, but the politics are a bit more nuanced than that.

Where is Ron Paul when we need him?
Bernie Sanders is refreshingly honest and smart- I don't agree on many issues but he's the only candidate I respect.
Where is Ron Paul? Where do you think, he is retired and should stay that way. If nothing else his age is against him and he never really was very popular. Now, Rand, he is a different story altogether.

Will NM go red, that is a question being asked about a lot of states.

Trailtramp: too many on the dole, this is true, but remember a lot of those people do not even bother to vote.

I agree. Too early to tell. However, I think that it could go red with the right candidate. Namely, someone who could appeal to both white and Hispanic voters, such as Bush or Rubio. New Mexico went red in 2004 for Bush, albeit narrowly. With the right push and proper resources, I could definitely see it going for one of the two aforementioned candidates. Not to mention that having Susana Martinez in the governor's mansion would only help at this point (that is, unless she becomes very unpopular between now and election day).
