Texas? IDK, beats me what the attraction is. Go figure! lol I guess--the Gulf coast? *shrug* I've never heard of Texas as anyone's tourism destination.

The gulf, bays, islands, rivers, peaks, forests, tons of nature of all types, wildlife, hunting, hikes, farms, multiple huge cities, nightlife, venues, towns, much filled with the history of our nation... etc, etc, what an odd comment

I made no statements one way or the other on your assertion.
But, looking up the numbers, it would seem Texas population has increased By ten million people in the last two decades, while New Mexico gained 250,000 in the same time. "Crowding into New Mexico". might be a bit, no, a huge overstatement.

I live a short distance from El Paso. If I could name to you statistically who I have sold the most to from out f state, my internal counts are
1) Colorado (by far). Reason: cold weather
2) Arizona. Reason: too hot in the summer.
3) California. Reason: cost of living.
Texas is fourth after those 3.

Because they can't handle the summer heat. So they go to mountain towns in NM for a break from the heat. Ruidoso and Santa Fe are popular as summer getaways for Texans.
Couldn't pay me to live io Texas, anywhere. Maybe Austin, but it's too crowded and expensive nowadays. As for New Mexico, I'll happily live there for free. (rhetorically speaking)
Some of us have never really spent time in Texas and I'm willing to admit that Jimbo has a point. But there are plenty of other places that have the same thing to offer that Jimbo states in his post. To each his own.

I was referring to people visiting here, not moving.
Las Cruces is too much like Texas for many Texans to relocate there. If you were selling in Ruidoso I think it would be different.

There are plenty of NM license plates in TX, the state border isn't the wall of china. You might be surprised to know that people travel all over the USA in cars, and often to places that are just over the border in a neighboring state.
