Big open sky, semi-desert landscapes with mountains in the background, chilis, NM style enchiladas, Apaches and Pueblos, Pueblo style buildings. Wilderness areas with fantastic pine forests, Smokey the Bear. Caverns.

Ghost towns, Gila cliff dwellings, skiing, coyotes yipping in the night. Jackrabbits, rattlesnakes, tarantulas. Turquoise to match the skies. The most spectacular sunsets in the world except for maybe Arizonas. Cool night, warm days. And lots of sun.

I always thought of desert and Shiprock.
Bugs Bunny and his left turn at Albuquerque although I didn't know why.
