I was told by someone in Portales that ENMU plans on bringing in 15,000 more students to a school of 4,000 and a town of 11,000,now that sounds impossible to me.What do you think?

Default Enrollment at ENMU

Enrollment has dropped, not just at ENMU, but at Clovis Community College.
This I know from one of my instructors at CCC, and I know Profs @ ENMU.

They are being proactive in their recruitment to bring their numbers up or they stand to lose state and federal funding. 15K is a stretch, they are building new dorms for the new influx, possibly from Cannon AFB. To keep people here is another story, given what Portales is as a city, but I'm tired of bashing, it is a relatively safe, dull, but safe town.

What's the timeframe? I'm just asking because if they plan on adding 15 thousand students over, say, the next forty years, yeah that's possible, but in the near future there absolutely NO way this can happen.

I just finished my last year of grad school at ENMU and ALL of my classes, except for one undergrad course I took, had less than SEVEN people in all of them. ONE of them actually had just three of us.

I think your friend was misinformed. The population of the whole town is only about 12,000 people. Even with the base expanding, I don't see how they could expect 15,000 students. They certainly don't have the facilities for it now, both in terms of housing and classes. That would entail a MAJOR expansion.
