Can anyone give me a water level report at Elephant Butte or Caballo reservoirs for memorial weekend coming up. Were taking our Kawasaki SX 800 to have some fun in the water and with all the people down down it should be a 3 day blast if the water levels are not too low.....

I feel bad for all the Tor C haters who post on here alot as they'll be missing out on all the fun.....

Next month it will be the Cherry Fest in High Rolls and camping at Cloudcroft if no fire restrictions....

With all the moisture in Cloudcroft this year I think you're going to ok on the fires. We were up turkey hunting mid april and it snowed more than a foot on us and there was still snow on the ground from winter. I know it rained all last week also. It's been a freakily wet spring, I've never seen anything like it in 30years.

As for Caballo, it fluctuates daily with releases for irrigation. The Butte was supposedly rising a foot a day there for a while so I expect it's pretty good. Sounds like a blast, I'm in the market for a boat so I may be up their some time this summer too!

Interesting how things happen but in todays New Mexico Business Journal (a day after i posted this thread) they are reporting on all the lake levels thru out NM and are reporting that Elephant Butte has a 51 percent increase in volume or 15 feet higher over last year.

El Vado is 20 feet higher over last year. Brantley and Santa Rosa lakes are 6 feet higher and Storrie is 5 feet higher. Navajo, Clayton and Heron lakes are all 4 feet higher over last year.

So for all those who like water recreation it sounds like memorial day weekend will be a blast whichever lake state park you choose to go to.....
