The Illinois forum is filled with discussions of poverty, political corruption, and crappy winter weather, when I'd much rather discuss food, Native American legends, and camping, so from now on I'll spend the majority of my lurking and posting time in the NM forum. Hey, it might not be an actual move, but it's better than nothing

So in that spirit, how's the Land of Enchantment treating everyone?

Pretty well, thanks
The weather was beautiful today, and the weekend should be just as nice.

I went out shopping this afternoon, sweatshirt and jeans. It was sunny and 40+ degrees....

We had some snow last week or so. About two days of it. Can't even remember when.

Reporting from Rio Rancho...

Everyone is poor, the politics are corrupt, and the weather sucks...

Just kidding...

And don't forget the spiny cacti and dangerous critters, to say nothing of the occasional space alien presence!

But the sun is shining and there is no snow on the ground here. My rose bushes are showing new growth and my pansies are blooming. Life is good

Snow has been on the ground for 3 months straight but it's a sunny blue skied day today in the mountains.

Welcome to the NM forum. Enjoy!

Aside from those cacti things, sounds cool. I used to love winter when I lived in NM, then I moved to Illinois and found out what winter really was I'm really looking forward to spring myself. The bugs might be a pain, but at least I won't have blizzards to drive though!

That is the reason I spend my winters in NM, and not in northern Illinois. We have had snow on the mountain for 3 months, but the temps here are so much better than back there.
