I was reading in the Grants and Gallup papers this week when they publish the court cases and the DUI cases that come up are dismissed because the office "failed" to show up.
Why not show up...because I was told they do not get paid for court time
So, back on the streets again.
Check out your local paper and see if they show the court cases and the DUI Cases...
There's also a second factor in many cases; the use of DWI processing teams as
well as the arresting officer creates TWO sets of officers that MUST appear to
allow prosecution to go forward. Often in those cases, the judge will dismiss or
allow a wrist-slap plea rather than reschedule.
This is ridiculous. We really need to ask our new governor in November to actually do something about this. Richardson's stand on DWI was just a joke. How can worsened penalties have any effect if nobody gets penalized?

Where does it say: "I was told they do not get paid for court time" I belive that is incorrect.
