The wife and I are wanting to try out some good Creole, one of the well-known expensive places (I realize expensive doesn't always mean better, but we want to do the ritzy experience to say we have). Galatoire's, Antoine's, Brennan's, etc...what's your favorite?

Commander's Palace, hands down. No, no, NO to Antoine's, ever, unless you want to spend $200 on ambience alone. Galatoire's would be a good choice if you don't want to venture out of the Quarter.

Commander's is prettier but Galatoire's for the food.

No contest.

You better hurry up and get those oysters en brochette before they take them off the menu.

Commander's Place is a place to record memories and everywhere else is just a meal.

Make sure you asked for a window seat(seats 10, 20, 30, 40, and 50) in the "Garden Room". It overlooks 2 of the other dining rooms (out of 6) and is super nice view of the garden and the main Brennan Home. You can't leave with ordering a bananas foster or a bread pudding souffle for dessert or the shrimp tasso with the 5 pepper jelly for an appetizer (my wife can't get enough of this dish). If you like salads try the Commander's Salad with the french bread croutons (this salad name changes every year so ask for the salad with the Black pepper buttermilk dressing)

Enjoy yourself and have a great time.
