Hello,

I have a giant cedar wardrobe made by H. Pukof mfg. co. that I am trying to get info. on. I would like to sell this but have no idea of the value of it. I did some research but only came up with very limited info. on the company itself. Any help would be much appreciated, Thank you!

they wee local at some point were they not? or did they just have a local store? i wouldnt know im too young. its all i got from a quick search. why not bring it to one of the numerous antique shops around or at least pictuers of it and see what they have to say.

if its in really good shape and solid cedar hand made id say its worth a good bit maybe. but id be willing to pay more for real wooden furniture with character and age than new particle board Ikea crap. and probably more than the average person as i know what goes into making it and if i could afford somethign like that id rather have it than something newer.

Hello! I am Rhonda Pukof! My father, Albert (who is still around!) and his father, Hillel, had a furniture store on Dauphine Street. Each piece is custom made by hand. My family aquired two more pieces from Craigslist a few years ago. The guy selling it was thrilled to get it back in our family's hands, and he even took a family photo of us as we packed up our purchase on a truck! If you have the piece still, please email me at rguttuso@hotmail.com with "pukof" in the message. If you keep the piece, I can tell you that they are made of the finset quality of wood by two perfectionists =) the pieces are beautiful and hand crafted work is so hard to find. If you are missing a hinge or knob, there is a good chance we have the match in my dad's shed! Let us know =)

Thanks for looking it up before tossing it..we've actually picked up a piece or two on the side of the road before! if you sell it, $500 is a reasonable price FYI!!

Hey, I'm Bonnie and I have one of the cedar chests with H.Pukof, the Old Reliable Cedar Chest Manuf. 239 Dauphine St. , New Orleans. I would like to sell it, and saw your post, wondering if you might want it or know someone. I have advertised it at $600 OBO in our local newspaper. Thank you for any information.

My name is Rosanne
My great Aunt passed last month at the age of 98 - she was born and died in the same uptown home and I'm in the process of cleaning out it now - I have an original H. Pukof(The old Reliable Cedar Manufacturer 239 Dauphine Street. It is in perfect condition and have inside and additional shelf with precious glass knobs. On the top inside is the original sticker still in place. This chest also has tiny wheels. I'm sure its was her mothers(my great grandmothers) Since I have several chest myself(from my mother-in-law and my mother and myself) I'm not sure what I should do with it.
Any suggestion on price if I should sell?
Thanks for help :")

I picked up an H.Pukof cedar chest in a Goodwill Store here in San Antonio, Tx.
It has the original label inside,
Manufactured and Sold by H.Pukof
The Reliable Cedar Chest Manufacturer

It is 48" x 24" and a depth of 22"
It has what looks to be copper hardware.

Anyone interested or know what it might be worth?
mdbird57@yahoo.com

Thank you!
