Circa 1980s, while wondering N'orleans I came upon a wonderful shop where I found what I thought was the perfect souvenir, a balcony panel made of iron which was supposedly cast in an antique mold. I recall many shelves or maybe it was cubbies of stacks of varieties of panels. Probably this establishment manufactured cast iron panels commercially. I believe I was in the French Quarter but it was so many years ago that now I am not certain.

Is this familiar to anyone who lives there and if so I would appreciate if you could furnish me with the name of the place.

did you finaly find out? I'm also looking for used balcony panel made of iron from new orleans. Where can we find this in town?

Oh and The Bank - I think the are still around. I know they used to be a great source for shutters. Mike (the owner, I think) is a great source of information.
