I'll be moving next year, but I'm trying to get a jump on things. I will be in Weinmann Hall and the School of Social Work which is on Law Road I think. I'm going down to look at places in a few weeks, but if I could narrow things down first that would be great. Basically, I am looking for 1BR within walking distance. I am a 26-year-old petite female, so safety is a concern. I've spent a lot of time in the city, but not by myself. Info on general areas and/or specific apartments or houses would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Broadway Ave. is pretty much the epicenter of Tulane/Loyola student life.. apartments, bars, fraternity/sorority houses, you name it and its there. That would be a safe and accessable street on which to live. Pretty much anywhere on St. Charles Ave from the 3000 block all the way to when it turns into Carrolton is safe, I know you mentioned walking but you could easily get a monthly pass and take the streetcar to class.. big stress reliever. If you plan on moving off campus your options (especially at night) are limited and I recommend a car

I'm definitely trying to avoid bringing my car. I can take the train to Hattiesburg when I need to go home. Anyway, thanks for the info!
